Our Lodge of Instruction (LOI) meets regularly to help Brethren develop their knowledge of Freemasonry, practise ceremonial work, and strengthen the bonds of friendship in a relaxed and supportive setting.
LOI is held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm, usually at Mayflower Place, Hertingfordbury, from September through to May. We usually start the evening with a drink and catch-up before we start any Masonic practise.
These meetings are an essential part of Lodge life, providing an opportunity for newer members to build confidence and understanding of Masonic ritual, while more experienced Brethren offer guidance and support. It is also an excellent way for members to socialise outside of regular Lodge meetings and enjoy the wider experience of Freemasonry.
At Amwell Lodge, we believe in learning by doing, and our Lodge of Instruction is a welcoming environment where mistakes are simply part of the learning process. Whether you are a newly initiated Brother learning the Opening and Closing of the Lodge for the first time, or a Past Master wishing to maintain ritual proficiency, there is something for everyone.
